James Rulo Minear of Marion, Indiana passed away at 12:38 p.m. on April 21, 2015 at Community Hospital of Bremen, Bremen, Indiana at the age of 86.
He was a resident of Kosciusko County, Indiana for the past 40 years. He was a 1948 graduate of Warsaw High School in Warsaw, Indiana. He then attended Manchester College for 3 years, later graduating in 1957 from Moody Bible Institute in Chicago. Jim served in the U.S. Navy from 1957-1959, and served as a pastor in various locations throughout Illinois and Indiana. Jim also served as an insurance agent for Mutual of Omaha and Brotherhood Mutual for many years. He was an enthusiastic fan of I.U. and the Chicago Bears.
He was born on March 20, 1929 in Warsaw, Indiana to George Rulo Minear and Ida Lorinda (Thompson) Minear. On August 2, 1983 he was married to Norita Joan (Ullery) Minear, who survives.
He is survived by his son: Tim (wife Patti) Minear (Winona Lake, Indiana); two daughters: Deb (husband Jim) Ford (Mansfield, Ohio); Amy (husband Scott) Allison (Columbia City, Indiana); eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Michael Scott Minear who died February 24, 2015; and two brothers Bernard and Tom Minear.
