Mrs. Esther Oakes and her mother, Mrs. J. P. Geyer, entertained with a dinner party at Springer on Sunday.
The dinner was in honor of her daughter, Mrs. Willis Morgan and her youngest son, Joe, who are visiting from Detroit, Mich.
Those invited included Mr. and Mrs. Carl Wertz, Mr. and Mrs. Charles O'Malley, Mr. and Mrs. William Stapp, Mrs. Ida Mae taupert, Miss Margaret Taupert, Mrs. Buelah Whitmore, and her daughter, Mrs. W. T. Bookout. Mr. and Mrs. Stapp were unable to attend.
Mrs. Morgan played several violin solos accompanied by her former teacher, Mrs. O'Malley. She is well known in Las Vegas as this was her former home.

Willis E. Morgan, formerly of Charlotte, has been elected vice president in charge of marketing of the Burroughs Corporation, Charlotte officials of the company were informed yesterday.
Marvin Wynn, manager of the Charlotte branch at 409-11 South Tryon St., said he had also received information that the name of the company has been changed to the Burroughs Corporation from that of the Burroughs Adding Machine Co.
Mr. Morgan joined the company in 1934. He was made manager of the Charlotte branch in 1941 and held that position until 1944 when he was transferred to Detroit as a division manager. He was appointed general sales manager in 1948 and continued in this office until his election as vice president.

Formal opening of the new Albuquerque sales and service branch of the Burroughs Corp. will be highlighted by the return of a vice president of the firm who made his start here in 1935.
He is Willis E. Morgan, Burroughs vice president in charge of marketing. A 1925 graduate of the University of New Mexico, Morgan started his selling career here after completing his sales training in the firm's El Paso branch.
Two years later, because of a distinctive sales record, he was transferred to the company's home office in Detroit, and in 1953 he was promoted to vice president.
The new branch, a one-story building located at 420 Lead SW, was designed by Burwinkle and Milner, architects, and constructed by Burnett Construction Co. It provides a total of 2744 square feet of operational space.
In opening ceremonies Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. Jack Wentworth, president of the Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce, will cut the ribbon. An open house for special guests and the public will follow.

LAKE KIOWA, Texas — Funeral services for Willis Edward Morgan, 71, of Lake Kiowa, Cooke County, a former division manager for Burroughs Corp. in Dallas, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in Whaley United Methodist Church in Gainesville. Burial will be in Gainesville.
A Dallas resident from 1960 to 1972, he died Sunday at his home.
He was listed in Who's Who in the Midwest and was a past member of the Dallas Rotary Club.
Survivors include two sons, Willis Morgan Jr. and Joseph K. Morgan; two sisters, Miss Ester Morgan and Mrs. John Overpeck, and five grandchildren.
