Mrs. Lillie B. Munn, wife of Mr. Samuel A. Munn, Broadway, of the Spoke and Bending Works, died Tuesday evening at 6:15 o'clock aged forty nine years. Mrs. Munn was operated upon for appendicitis Monday night by Dr. Cullen, of John Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, assisted by Drs. E. A. Wareham, O. H. W. Ragan and W. B. Morrison. THe appendix, which was about three inches long, was found to be in a gangrenous state. Mrs. Munn stood the operation well and rallied nicely but a change took place and her condition grew rapidly worse. Her death was due to peritonitis.
The deceased was a daughter of the late Rodney Houston, and was born in Cumberland. Her husband and three children survive: Frank Munn, Somerville, N. J.; Mrs. Frank S. Barrick and Henry Munn, Hagerstown; Miss Idella, at home; also one sister and two brothers: Mrs. Wm. R. Barrick, Johnstown, Pa.; Brad Houston, Jersey City, N. J.; Albert Houston, Somerville, N. J.
Funeral Thursday at 2 o'clock; services at the house by Rev. R. M. Moore and Dr. W. I. McKenney; interment private in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Samuel A. Munn, well known retired business man, died at 3 o'clock Wednesday morning at his home, 652 Oak Hill avenue, of general disability, aged 86 years.
He was the sone of the late John and Louisa Munn and was born in Washington County, Pa., September 7, 1842. When twenty years of age he enlisted in the Ringgold Cavalry for service in the Civil War. His first wife, Lillie B. Houston, of Mt. Savage, Md., died in 1898 and he later married Fannie L. Howson, of Washington, D. C.
Mr. Munn was identified with the industrial life of Hagerstown for a number of years, being president and general manager of the Hagerstown Spoke and Bending Works company. He was a member of St. Paul's Methodist Episcopal Church and of the Royal Arch Masons.
Surviving him are his widow and four children by his former marriage: Mrs. Frank S. Barrick, Mrs. Roy A. Leiter and W. Frank Munn, of Hagerstown, and Harry E., of Baltimore, and five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at his home on Friday at 4 o'clock. Burial in Rose Hill cemetery.
