Layton Myrick, 56, a prominent member of the Reid Memorial church, and former business man, died at his home, 400 north Eleventh street, Sunday afternoon. Death was due to heart trouble.
Mr. Myrick for many years was connected with the Zeller Baking company and later the local branch of the National Biscuit company. He has been retired for some time. He was a devoted member of the Reid Memorial church and was the oldest teacher in the Sunday School of that church.
The widow, one son, three brothers and two sisters survive.
The funeral will be held from the Reid Memorial church Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Burial will be private and will be in the Earlham cemetery. Friends may call Monday afternoon and evening.

WHITING, May 31 — Yesterday Mrs. Layton Myrick, 72, mother of Dr. R. T. Myrick assistant general superintendant of the Whiting refinery, Standard Oil. Co. of Indiana, attended the World's Fair in Chicago and enjoyed the tour of the fair grounds.
At 2:30 o'clock this morning she suffered a sudden attack of heart trouble and pased away at the home of her son, Dr. Myrick, 1932 Wespart avenue.
Mrs. Myrick had liver here for about 12 years, coming to the city from Richmond, Ind. after the death of her husband. She was a member of the United Presbyterian church, of Richmond.
Besides her son, Dr. Myrick, Mrs. Myrick is survived by one granddaughter, Dorothy Myrick.
Funeral services will be held this evening at 7:30 o'clock at the Schlater funeral home with Dr. F. T. Mayer-Oakes of the Congregational church, officiating. The remains will be taken to Richmond tomorrow morning where final services will be held Saturday afternoon with interment in the Earlham cemetery.

Mrs. Ida Myrick, widow of Layton Myrick, and well known resident of Richmond until a few years ago when she went to Chicago to make her home with a son, Dr. Raymond C. Myrick, died Thursday at the son's home. She was identified with the affairs of the Ried Memorial United Presbyterian Church while a resident of this city.
Survivors are one son, Dr. Raymond C. Myrick of Chicago, and one granddaughter.
The body will arrive in Richmond Friday afternoon and will be taken to the home of Mrs. B. B. Myrick, 226 North Eleventh street, where friends may call Friday evening. Funeral services will be conducted in the Reid Memorial United Presbyterian Church Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock in charge of Rev. L. Harold Hammond, pastor. Burial will be made in Earlham Cemetery.
