Willard L. Nelson

WILLARD L. NELSON, son of LAUREL LUREE STAMBAUGH and MARVIN CLARENCE NELSON, was born November 3, 1906 in Nebraska,⁵⁶ and died September 28, 1990 in Sun City, Maricopa, Arizona.^{56, 456} He is buried in Grandview Cemetery, Fort Collins, Larimer, Colorado.⁴⁵⁶

He married (1) VERONICA MARY WELNA on March 18, 1928 in Stanton, Stanton, Nebraska.²²⁸⁴ She was born March 22, 1902 in Nebraska,²⁵⁰ and died October 12, 1990 in Los Angeles County, California.²⁵⁰

He married (2) RUBY LEE JESSE on October 14, 1946. She was born November 29, 1910 in Fort Collins, Larimer, Colorado,⁴⁵⁶ and died June 21, 2000 in Sun City, Maricopa, Arizona.⁴⁵⁶ She is buried in Grandview Cemetery, Fort Collins, Larimer, Colorado.⁴⁵⁶

Willard L. Nelson

Willard L. Nelson, 83, of Sun City, Ariz., formerly of Fort Collins, died Friday, Sept. 28, 1990, at Earthstone Care Center in Sun City.

The BPO Elks Lodge No. 804 will hold a memorial graveside service at 11 a.m. Monday at Grandview Cemetery. The family may be reached at Day's Inn on East Highway 14 after 3 p.m. Friday.

Mr. Nelson was born in Niobrara, Neb. He attended the University of Nebraska for three years and later moved to Colorado.

He originated Vern's Place in LaPorte in 1946 and operated the landmark for 18 years. He moved to Sun City in 1985.

He served in the Army Medical Corps during World War II. He was a lifetime member of the Elks Lodge.

He married Ruby Lee Nelson on Oct. 14, 1946, at Fort Collins. She lives in Sun City.

Other survivors include a son, Willard D. Nelson of Olympia, Wash.; a brother, Jack Nelson of Bethesda, Md.; and a sister, Winifred Gall of Houston, Texas.
