He married VIRGINIA DEXTER MCCLURE on October 13, 1951 in Kansas City, Jackson, Missouri.⁸⁹⁸³ She was born November 23, 1913 in Kansas City, Jackson, Missouri,⁴⁵³² and died April 24, 1998.⁴⁵³²

Virginia Dexter Bernard Is Married

Mrs. Virginia Dexter Bernard, daughter of Mrs. Gertrude McClure, became the bride of Mr. Dwight Brown Newell Saturday night, October 6, at the home of the bride's aunt, Mrs. T. G. Brannon and Mr. Brannon. The Rev. Donald V. Lentz read the service before the improvised altar of white gladioli, ferns and chrysanthemums lighted with burning tapers.

The bride was given in marriage by Mr. Brannon. She wore a bronze iridescent taffeta and velvet gown and a hat of beaded delph blue velvet. She wore matching blue gloves and carried white Fujii chrysanthemums.

Mrs. McClure, mother of the bride, wore a black velvet gown and the bridegroom's mother wore a gold lame gown. Both wore orchids.

For traveling the bride wore a gray wool costume suit with matching accessories and she wore and orchid.

Following a honeymoon in the East the couple will live at 1733 Swope parkway.
