Newell-Stauber Nuptials

Miss Neva Mildred Newell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Alvin Newell of Marshall, Mo., was married to Ralph Otto Stauber Jr., son of Mrs. R. O. Stauber of 605 North Eleventh street yesterday afternoon at 5 o'clock in the Trinity Episcopal Church at Marshall. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. C. Hely Molony, rector of Christ church of this city, assisted by the Rev. Mr. Williams, pastor of Trinity church.

Preceding the ceremony, Miss Mary Craig of Kansas City sang " I Love Thee" (Greig) and "Oh, Promise Me" (DeKoven). The wedding march from "Lohengrin" was used as processional, and Mendelssohn's wedding march as recessional. "The Evening Star" from "Tannhauser" was played during the ceremony.

The choir was banked in palms, ferns and autumn shades of chrysanthemums. White chrysanthemums were used on the altar.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a princess dress of ivory satin, with high round neck, long sleeves and train. Her long tulle veil was held by a cap of rose point lace and she carried a shower bouquet of bride's roses and lilies of the valley.

The bride's sister, Mrs. Howard Peterson of St. Louis, who was matron of honor, wore a dress of light green velvet with low square neck and long sleeves, and she carried pale yellow chrysanthemums. The four bridesmaids wore dresses of the same design, made of a darker shade of velvet, and carried arm bouquets of bronze chrysanthemums. All the bride's attendants wore tilted hats of the same material as their dresses, each with a bandeau in back covered with gold roses.

The bridesmaids were Miss Jean Porter and Miss Marian Sparks of Kansas City; Miss Mary Stauber, sister of the bridegroom, and Miss Adele Hereford.

S. Ralph Douglas was the best man, and the ushers were Conger Beasley, Walter Toben, John Murphy of Kansas City, and John Newell of Marshall, brother of the bride.

A large reception for relatives and out of town guests followed the ceremony. The house was decorated throughout with a profusion of chrysanthemums in autumn tones and lighted by ivory candles in wrought-iron holders. The dining table was centered with the wedding cake surrounded by a garland of smilax and tiny white chrysanthemums.

The bride and groom will spend their honeymoon in St. Louis and will reside in St. Joseph.
