Dorotha K. Pormen

Dorotha K. Pormen, 90, died at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2010 in Millers Merry Manor, Marion.

She was born in Converse to the late William and Myrtle (Paulson) Stambaugh and lived many years in Wabash County.

Dorotha was a graduate of Converse High School. She married Gene Pormen on Oct. 10, 1942. He preceded her in death on May 24, 1976.

Dorotha retired from Essex in Converse. She loved gardening and working with flowers.

Survivors include grandson, Steven R. Pormen, Granger; great-grandsons, Alec and Evan Pormen, Granger; daughter-in-law, Kerry Pormen Druck, Converse; special niece, Onda Stroup; special great-niece, Linda Shafer; special great-great-nieces, Ondra and Tessa Shafer; and special nephew, Dale Stambaugh.

She was preceded in death by son, Larry Pormen; sister, Ruth Amos; brother, Ira "Doc" Stambaugh; brother, Lawrence "Potter" Stambaugh.

Graveside services are at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 30, 2010 in Mississinewa Memorial Cemetery, Somerset with the Rev. Gary Bingham officiating. Burial is in Mississinewa Memorial Cemetery, Somerset.

Funeral arrangements handled by Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Avenue, Marion.
