Charles Ehlers, 36, a mail carrier in University City, was found dead in the garage in the basement of his home at 18 North Barat avenue, Ferguson, last night. The motor of the automobile was running.
The body was found by Ehlers' wife, Helen, and his sister, Mrs. W. E. Mueller of 3022 New Ashland place, St. Louis. Police said Ehlers' body was found on the floor in the rear of the machine.

Mr. Otto W. Ehlert, 55, died Saturday at his home at the Vagabond Trailer Park following a heart attack.
Mr. Ehlert came to Orlando from Mount Olive, Ill. four years ago. He was a member of the Bahia Shrine Temple of Orlando and a member of the Temple band. He was also a member of the Orange Lodge of Masons, Lodge 36, Apopka; the Orlando Council No. 5, Royal and Select Masons; Olivet Commandery No. 4; Knights Templar, Orlando; and Eureka Chapter 7, Royal Arch Masons.
Surviving are two brothers, Emil Ehlert, Mount Carmel, Ill., and Walter Ehlert, St. Louis, Mo.; and three sisters, Mrs. Hulda Haller, Mount Olive; Mrs. Olga Baumann, St. Louis, and Mrs. Hattie Ernst, Staunton, Ill.
The body will be shipped to Mount Olive for services and burial.
Carey-Hand Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
