Richard Osmond Reese

LOGAN — Richard Osmond Reese, 71, believed to be the first white male born in Benson ward and a prominent cattleman and farmer for several years, died at the family home, 547 South Main street, Logan, Friday after a long illness. He had been ill since he suffered a stroke seven years ago.

Mr. Reese was born in Benson October 12, 1871, a son of Charles and Sarah Griffiths Reese. He married Florence Woolf in Logan LDS temple February 8, 1893. The family moved to Logan in 1926. Survivors include his widow, seven of his 14 sons and daughters, Charles L. Reese, Mrs. Alice Chandler and Mrs. Rose Hansen of Las Vegas, Nev.; Mrs. Mabel Cox of New York City, N. Y.; Mrs. Nyda Thomas of Burbank, Cal.; Mrs. Hattie Waugh of San Francisco, Cal., and Mrs. Mozelle McArthur of Mackay, Idaho; eight grandchildren, and two brothers, Mose Reese of Logan and A. V. Reese of Benson.

AMALGA— Richard Reese, 13 son of R. O. and Florence Woolf Reese, died at the family home here Monday, following a nervous breakdown. He was born in Benson December 6, 1918. His parents, one brother and six sisters survive; Llewellyn Reese, Boise, Idaho; Mrs. May Cox, New York; Mrs. Milton Thomas, Los Angeles, Cal.; Mrs. Sidney Waugh, San Francisco, Cal.; Mrs. Kenneth Chandler, West Yellowstone; Mrs. Harold Handsen, Ely, Nev.; Mrs. William McArthur, Logan.

Funeral services have not yet been arranged.
