Sarah Alice Woolf and George Lyon

GEORGE LYON was born in October, 1858, and died before 1956.

He married SARAH ALICE WOOLF in 1887, daughter of HARRIET WOOD and ABSALOM WOOLF. She was born in 1867 in Utah, and died June 3, 1933 in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah.3523 She is buried in Smithfield City Cemetery, Cache County, Utah.3523

Family Re-union Held in Reno At Stephens Home

Held at the home of Mrs. Harry Stephens on Palisade Drive recently was a family reunion for the children and grandchildren of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Lyon, former residents of Wells. This was the first meeting of the family since 1932.

The only absent member of the family was Devoe Lyon of Twin Falls, Idaho. Present were Mrs. Hazel Lyon Bake of Wells, Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Stoddard of Arcadia, Calif, and their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Williams of Cheyenne, Wyo.; Mrs. Orville Griffith of Ogden, Mrs. Len Carlyle of McCammon, Idaho; Mr. and Mrs. John Knudsen of Grass Valley, and their daughter, Mrs. Jane Phillips and her son, Robert Phillips, all of Grass Valley; Mr. and Mrs. Bert Canonic, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Drown, and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Stephens, and Miss Sharon Ann Stephens, all of Reno; and Mr. and MRs. George B. Lyon of Salt Lake City.

The Lyone family is well known in the Wells and Elko communities. The late Mr. and Mrs. Lyon lived on a ranch near Wells for many years.

Alice Woolf Lyon

Mrs. Alice Woolf Lyon, 67, wife of George Lyon of Metropolis, Nev., died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. A. C. Stoddard, 1268 East Sixth South street, Saturday at 3:45 a. m., of heart trouble.

Mrs. Lyon came to Salt Lake about two weeks ago becasue of her failing health. She was born in Hyde Park, Utah, a daughter of Abram and Harriet Wood Woolf. Mrs. Lyon had lived in Nevada for the last 17 years.

She is survived by her husband, ten sons and daughters, Mrs. John Bake, Mrs. John Knudsen, Budd, Devoe and Ruth Lyon, all of Metropolis; Mrs. Gordon Drown of Lee, Nev.; Mrs. Lew Carlile of McCammon, Idaho; Mrs. Orval Griffith of Smithfield; Mrs. Bert Canonic of California, and Mrs. Stoddard of Salt Lake; two sisters, Mrs. Rhoda Reese of Cache valley and Mrs. Florence Reese of Smithfield; three brothers, Archie Lyon of Hyde Park, Fred Lyon of Burley, Idaho, and Frank Lyon of Canada, 17 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

The body will be taken to Smithfield for funeral services and burial.
