BOSWELL — Paul E. Reynolds, 52, of Boswell, an employe of Purdue University, died in Home Hospital, Lafayette, at 8:10 p.m. Friday. He was ill two and a half years and a patient in the hospital four days.
He was born at West Lebanon and graduated from high school there and moved to Boswell in 1938 and operated an automobile service station for a number of years before taking employment at Purdue University in 1962.
Mr. Reynolds was married to Ethel Rainwater in 1943 and was a veteran of World War II and a member of the Boswell Free Methodist Church and American Legion.
Surviving with the widow are two daughters, Kathleen and Irene, both at home; two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Kiser of Williamsport and Mrs. Eleanor Young of Dayton, Ohio, and a brother, Lt. Col. Richard F. Reynolds of Honolulu.

Ethel M. Rainwater Davis, 96, of Lafayette, died at 4:25 a.m. Thursday, March 24, 2011, at Rosewalk Village.
Born May 9, 1914, in Canestore, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Louis and Grace Wilson Rainwater.
She married Paul Reynolds on April 10, 1943, in Amarillo, Texas. He preceded her in death on Sept. 8, 1967. She married Troy Davis on Dec. 14, 1968, in Fowler, and he preceded her in death on Sept. 20, 1985. Mrs. Davis was a homemaker.
Surviving are two daughters, Kathleen Wainwright (husband: Bruce) of Parker, Colo., and Irene Maes of Littleton, Colo.; and three stepdaughters, Gloria Desenfants (husband: James) of West Lafayette, Janet Kellerman (husband; Stewart0 of Romney and Pamela Graves (husband: Robert) of West Lafayette.
Also surviving are 5 grandchildren, 7 step-grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and 16 step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by five brothers, Herbert, Arnet, Gilbert, Olef and Corbin Rainwater; and a sister, Eva Stultz.
Visitation from 1-2 p.m. Monday with funeral service to follow at 2 p.m. at Hippensteel Funeral Home. Rev. Dr. Ronald Wunsch officiating. Burial to follow at Boswell Cemetery.
The family requests memorial contributions be sent to the American Cancer Society or First Church of God. Hippensteel Funeral Home entrusted with care.
