Honoring Miss Alma Rimkus and announcing her approaching marriage to C. R. Rhodes, the Misses Virginia Warne and Barbara McCall entertained at their home Sunday night with an open house. A number of friends called during the evening.
Miss Rimkus and Mr. Rhodes will be married in the First Presbyterian chuch in San Diego on June 27. They will return to Prescott and Mr. Rhodes will be in charge of the Country club pool during the summer.
Both Miss Rimkus and Mr. Rhodes are members of the Junior High school faculty.

Miss Helen Rimkus, librarian at the State Teachers college of Buffalo, N. Y., has been visiting here with her sister, Miss Alma Rimkus, teacher at the junior high school. The Misses Rimkus and Bob Rhodes, physical education instructor at the junior high school, have left for his home in San Diego, Calif. Mr. Rhodes and Miss Alma Rimkus will be married Sunday at the Presbyterian church in San Diego. They will return next Tuesday to Prescott, where they will make their home.

Mr. and Mrs. Charles Robert Rhodes, Jr., will make their home in Prescott, Ariz., following their marriage June 27 in the First Presbyterian Church in San Diego, Calif. Dr. Thomas Law Coyle read the service in the presence of a few close friends and relatives. A reception followed in the church parlor.
The bride, the former Miss Alma Rimkus, is the daughter of Anthony Rimkus and the late Mrs. Rimkus of Rochester, N. Y. Her sister, Miss Helen Rimkus of Rochester was among the guests at the wedding.
The bride wore a white eyelet embroidered gown with a short tulle veil falling from a crown of seed pearls.
Mr. Rhodes is the son of Mr. and Mrs. C. R. Rhodes, formerly of Fayetteville, now of San Diego. He was graduated from the University and served five years in the Army.
Both Mr. Rhodes and his bride are connected with the public schools in Prescott.

father, teacher, tennis player, birdwatcher, ballroom dance aficionado, and ecologically-minded citizen, passed away peacefully on November 24. Born in Golden Lake, Arkansas in 1916, he graduated from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, served in the Army during World War II from 1940-1946 and was stationed in the Aleutian Islands. He then earned a master's degree from USC, moved to Prescott, and taught physical education before relocating to Phoenix where he taught in the Madison School District for over 30 years. Upon retirement, Bob continued to be an avid tennis player, competed in the Senior Olympics, and served as a Big Brother. He is survived by two daughters, Helena Flanders of Danville, CA and Elizabeth "Libby" Rhodes of Nacogdoches, TX, as well as a grandson, Barron Rhodes Flanders of Danville, CA. He was predated in death by his wife, Alma Rimkus, and his son, Charles Robert Rhodes, III. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Mohammed Ali Parkinsons Research Center (MAPRC) in Phoenix. There will be a gathering of friends and family in remembrance on Saturday, November 29 from 9:30-11:00 AM at the Granite Reef Senior Center in Scottsdale.

Word has been received of the death of Charles Robert Rhodes III, 19, in a motorcycle crash near Phoenix, Ariz., Monday night. A memorial service will be held in Phoenix Firday morning.
Survivors are his parents of Phoenix and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. C. R. (Dusty) Rhodes of Fayetteville.
