Joy-Robertson Nuptials

On Tuesday, February 15, at half past six o'clock in the evening at the St. Regis hotel in New York occurred the marriage of Miss Mildred Anne Joy, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde R. Joy, to Mr. Hugh Jewett Robertson, the Rev. J. T. Stocking of Mount Clair officiating. The service was read in a private parlor which had in it an improvised altar at the back of which were banked white lilies with a background of palms and ferns. An orchestra played a program of wedding music during the service. The bride was attended by Mrs. Ralph B. Joy as matron of honor and Mr. Harold Covington Pond was best man. The bride wore a white satin gown with point lace and wore a long tulle veil caught with orange blossoms. She carried a shower bouquet of white roses. The matron of honor wore a handsome gown of white tulle and carried a bouquet of orchids. Following the service a wedding dinner was served, with covers laid for twenty-five. The guests, many of them former Keokuk people, were seated at one table which was most artistic in its decoration of bride's roses. A great bundle of telegrams and letters were received while the dinner was in progress, some of which were read to the company. Among the guests were Mrs. Herbert Joy and daughters, Mrs. W. H. Titus, Mr. and Mrs. M. E. Jewett, Mr. and Mrs. Hugh L. Cooper and Miss Agnes Cooper, Gerard Heiskamp, Harold Pond, Miss Toole, Mr. and Mrs. Fred B. Smith. Mrs. C. R. Joy wore a gown of gray chiffon with ermine trimming. Mrs. Titus wore a gray faille silk. Mrs. Jewett's gown was of white chiffon with a gold lace bodice. Mrs. Cooper's gown was of white satin and tulle.

Mr. and Mrs. M. E. Jewett entertained at a dinner last night at their home in New York in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Robertson, the guests including most of those who were at the wedding.

On Friday Mr. and Mrs. Robertson will attend the Ivy dance in Philadelphia, given by the senior class of the University of Pennsylvania, which is Mr. Robertson's alma mater. They will be honor guests at a dinner given by some of the university students preceding the dance. Mrs. W. H. Titus will entertain at a luncheon for them while they are in Philadelphia. Enroute west they will stop at Fort Wayne to visit Mr. and Mrs. Collins and will be honor guests at a number of social functions there. Following their wedding journey to the west they will be at home after April 1 at 526 North Fourth street.
