JOHN A SAMELSON DEAD AT AGE OF 70

John A. Samelson, 70, died this morning at the family home, 125 West A street, following a lengthy illness.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Loraine Samelson, and two daughters, Mrs. A. R. Carlson and Ione Mitchell, both of Casper. Mr. and Mrs. Samelson came to Casper 18 months ago from Thermopolis.

He was a charter member of the Masonic lodge at Ipswich, S. D., and had been a member of the Modern Woodmen of America for 40 years.

Services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Conroy Mortuary with Rev. Charles S. Bream, pastor of the Grace English Lutheran church, officiating. Interment will be at Highland cemetery.

Rites Monday for Mrs. Samuelson

Funeral services for Mrs. Loraine Samuelson, 77, of Casper, who died Thursday at Memorial hospital following a short illness, will be conducted at the Horstman-Gay chapel on Monday at 1:d0 p.m. The Rev. A. G. Johnson of Trinity Lutheran church will officiate.

Interment will be made in Highland cemetery beside the body of her husband who died in 1934.

Mrs. Samuelson suffered a stroke in Thermopolis on June 30 and was brought to the hospital here by ambulance. Two daughters, Mrs. Beryl Carlson of Casper and Mrs. Ione Grisinger of McCook, Nebr., were at her bedside.

She was born in Munroe, Wis., on March 5, 1874, and was married to John A. Samuelson at Opswitch, S. D., on June 27, 1890.

Surviving besides her daughters, are a brother, Howard Sylvester of Eau Claire, Wis.; two sisters, Mrs. Ida Christian of Aberdeen, S. D., and Mrs. Clara Hall of Casper; three grandsons, Capt. John R. Carlson, now stationed in Japan, Warren R. Carlson and Loren Grisinger, Omaha; a granddaughter, Audrey Grisinger of McCook; and a great granddaughter, Carol Anne Grisinger, Omaha.
