Texas City, Tex, April 8.—Funeral services for Fenner Reese Sawyer, 74, Baytown, formerly of Texas City, who died suddenly at his home Thursday night, were conducted Saturday afternoon at 4 o'clock at the Paul U. Lee Chapel at Goose Creek, with Rev. Paul Henckall, pastor of Trinity Episcopal Church of Baytown, in charge. Interment was in Cedar Crest Cemetery, directed by the Paul U. Lee funeral home.
Mr. Sawyer is survived by: His wife, Mrs. Cora Sawyer; a daughter, Mrs. George Weller of Beaumont; and two brothers, G. B. Sawyer of Jacksonville and A. B. Sawyer of Cuero.
Pallbearers were: Levi Fry of Texas City and S. B. Hickerson, Paul de Verter, B. T. McKinney, James Harrop, Dan Holland and W. Moore, all of Baytown.
Among those from Texas City who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Fry, Mayor and Mrs. Carl Nessler, Mr. and Mrs. S. T. Walker, Mrs. J. Ward LeGendre and Mr. and Mrs. J. M Quinn.

Mrs. Cora Chapman Sawyer, 73, room manager at the Humble dormitory died at 1:45 p.m. Wednesday at a Baytown hospital after a long illness.
Mrs. Sawyer, generally known as Mrs. F. R. Sawyer, came to Baytown in 1937 to manage the dormitory. She was a native of St. Thomas, Quebeck, Canada.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Friday at Trinity Episcopal church with Rev. P. Walter Henckell, rector, officiating. Burial will be in Cedarcrest cemetery under direction of Paul U. Lee funeral home.
Survivors are a son, Gerald C. Griffin of Baytown; two daughters, Mrs. Ruby Stubbs of Galveston and Mrs. Marjorie Meyer of Conway, Ark.; three grandchildren and a great grandson.
Pallbearers will be J. S. Hickerson, Dr. H. O. Sappington, Paul L. Deverter, Joe Casey, Gordon Farned of Baytown and Carl Nessler of Texas City.
The family has requested that contributions be made to the Trinity Episcopal Memorial fund.
