Miss Jean Hessin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Hessin, Black Run, became the bride of Fred R. Shedd, son of H. E. Shedd, Bluefield, W. V., at a ceremony read at 8:30 o'clock Easter morning at Grace M. E. church, Springfield. Rev. Thomas Adahead, former pastor of the Euclid avenue church in this city, officiated.
The service was read before an altar which had been banked with palms and Easter lilies and a program of organ music was presented preceding it. Miss Edna Hoover of Zanesville and Weston Brown, Wheeling, W. Va., were the attendants.
The bride wore a dress and cape of sheer navy blue and white Forosa wool and her accessories were in navy blue. She wore a corsage of lilies of the valley and gardenias. Miss Hoover was in gray silk alpaca with navy accessories and her corsage was of gardenias and sweet peas.
A breakfast for the bridal party followed and immediately afterwards, the couple left for New York City. THere they will board the S. S. Georgia for a cruise to Bermuda. On their return they will make their home in New York where Mr. Shedd is employed by the American Gas and Electric company.
Mrs. Shedd is a graduate of Newark high school and Meridith Business college. She was in the Citizens National bank for several years and recently has been with the Soils Conservation service at Dayton. She is a member of the First Church of Christ in this city. Mr. Shedd attended the University of Michigan.

Fred R. Shedd, 59, of 31 Fruit Hill Dr., executive vice president of the Ohio Valley Electric Co. and its subsidiary, the Indiana-Kentucky Electric Co., collapsed and died while he was presiding at a business conference in Columbus Wednesday morning.
He was stricken shortly after opening the meeting at 10 a.m. and was dead on arrival at Grant Hospital.
Mr. Shedd had suffered a heart attack April 20, but apparently had made a remarkable recovery.
He had been in Chillicothe since the opening of the OVEC offices here in July, 1954.
His wife was with him in Columbus.
Arrangements are being made at the Ware Funeral Home here.

Fred R. Shedd of 31 Fruit Hill Dr., who died unexpectedly Wednesday at Columbus, will be buried Friday afternoon in Grandview Cemetery following a 3 p.m. service at Ware's Funeral Home. The Rev. Benjamin Judd Jr. of the First Presbyterian Church will officiate.
Executive vice president of Ohio Valley Electric Co., and the subsidiary, the Indiana-Kentucky Electric Co., Mr. Shedd had 39 years' experience in electric utility management and power plant operations. Prior to affiliating with OVEC, he was associated with the American Electric Power Co. He come to Chillicothe from South Bend, Ind., in July, 1954.
Mr. Shedd was born Sept. 23, 1899 at Niagara Falls, N.Y., the son of Horace E. and Alice I. Cross Shedd. Surviving are his wife, the former Jean Hessin, and a cousin, Mrs. Erling W. Hansen of Minneapolis, Minn.
Mr. Shedd was a veteran of World War I. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Sunset Club, Elks Lodge and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
Friends may call at Ware's after 4 p.m. Thursday. The family requests that memorial tributes be made to the United Fund.

Service for Fred Shedd was held at 3 p.m. Friday at th Ware Funeral Home with the Rev. Ben Judd Jr. officiating. Burial was in Grandview Cemetery.
Pallbearers were H. V. Barr, J. V. Harreld, M. H. MacMillan, R. F. Joseph, T. N. Ward and K. W. Brown.
