Rejected August 20 because of obstructed breathing, Emor Oren Shepard, 2602 Avenue B, enlisted in the United States navy yesterday and after an operation made his acceptance possible. Shepard is the son of Mrs. Esther Hunt Shepard and will soon be on his way to the Great Lakes, Ill., naval training station, the recruiting office said.

Age 80, of Wilkins Twp., on August 3, 2002. Mr. Shepard was a member of the US Maryland BB #46 during WWII and the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association. He worked as an Electrical Engineer for Westinghouse. He also enjoyed using the Wilmerding YMCA over the past 20 years. Beloved husband of Jeanette Marie (Simmons( Shepard; father of Charles (Sharon) Shepard of Saltsburg & Douglas (Bonnie) Shepard of Valencia, CA: brother of Charles Shepard of CA; grandfather of Bruce Douglas Shepard. Friends will be received Wednesday 1-2 pm at JOBE FUNERAL HOME, INC., corner Shaw & Triboro Ave. Turtle Creek where a memorial service will follow Wednesday at 2 pm. Age 86, formerly of Eastmont, Wilkins, Twp., on Tuesday, December 25, 2007, at Barnes House, assisted living facility in Latrobe, PA, where she resided for the past 2 years. Beloved wife of the late Emor Oren "Shep" Shepard; survived by her two sons: Charles (Sharon) Shepard of Saltsburg and Douglas (Bonnie) Shepard of Valencia, CA. and grandson Bruce Shepard of Valencia, CA. Jeannette proudly served as a WAVE in the US Navy during World War II. She served the community as a member of the Eastmont Friends and Garden Club, and volunteered for Meals On Wheels. Jeannette was an avid tennis player and golfer who belonged to the Murrysville Golf League. She also was a member of the Penn Hills Senior Citizens. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, 11 am at the JOBE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES INC. (MONROEVILLE / PLUM CHAPEL) corner of Beatty Rd. and 48 North, Monroeville. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association or American Cancer Society.
