Emmitt N. (G.I.) Walker, 55, of 3901 N. Cherry, died Saturday at a hospital in Richmond, Mo. He was born in Nashua in Clay County and had lived here most of his life. He had been employed by the U. S. Corps of Engineers for 36 years and had worked in the transportation department. Mr. Walker was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Mr. Walker was a member of the Ivanhoe Masonic Lodge. His leaves his wife, Mrs. June Walker of the home; a son, John Walker, Liberty; three brothers, Frank W. Walker, 716 N. E. 82nd Terrace; Charles A. Walker, 525 W. 85th Terrace, and J. R. Walker, 5141 Birch, Roeland Park; two sisters, Miss Elba Walker, 634 Spring Lake Drive, Independence, and Mrs. Susan McCurdy, Simi, Calif., and five grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Newcomer North Kansas City Chapel; burial in Mount Moriah Terrace Park North Cemetery. A Veterans of Foreign Wars services will be at 8 p.m. tonight at the chapel, where friends may call after 4 p.m. today. The family requests no flowers and suggests contributions to the Shriner's Crippled Children's Hospital, St. Louis.

June Shepard Walker, 72, Kansas City in Clay County, died June 7, 1992, at North Kansas City Hospital. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Newcomer's North Kansas City Chapel, burial in Mount Moriah Terrace Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the chapel. The family suggests contributions to Grace and Holy Trinity Cathedra. Mrs. Walker was born in Omaha, Neb., and lived in this area most of her life. She was a buy for National Bellas Hess Inc. for 33 years, retiring in 1970. She was a member of the cathedral. Her husband, Emmitt N. Walker, died in 1973. Survivors include a son, John J. Walker, Kansas City; a sister, Evelyn C. Brady, Palm Harbor, Fla.; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
