He married GERTRUDE CABEEN on July 10, 1912 in Lincoln, Lancaster, Nebraska.7896 She was born in 1891 in La Harpe, Hancock, Illinois,8911, 456 and died February 23, 1978 in Easton, Leavenworth, Kansas.8911 She is buried in Green Lawn Cemetery, Kansas City, Jackson, Missouri.456

A pretty wedding took place at the home of the bride's mother, Mrs. J. B. Cabeen, 2257 U street, yesterday afternoon at 3 o'clock, when her daughter, Miss Gertrude was married to Charles F. Shepard of this city. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Mr. Hilton of the East Lincoln Christian church. The wedding presents were profuse and beautiful. The guests were the relatives and immediate friends of the families. Mr. and Mrs. Shepard left for points in Colorado at 6 o'clock, for a short wedding trip, after which they will be at home to their friends at 2315 Lynn street, this city, where they have furnished their home ready for occupancy.

MRS. GERTRUDE SHEPARD

Mrs. Gertrude Shepard, 87, Easton, Kan., formerly of Kansas City, died Thursday at a nursing home in Easton. She was born in La Harpe, Ill., and had lived in this area 53 years. Mrs. Shepard was a clerk at the Nelms Drug Store 45 years before she retired in 1969. She was a member of the Christian Church. She leaves three daughters, Mrs. Irene Baker, Raytown; Mrs. June P. Walker, Kansas City, and Mrs. Evelyn Brady, St. Petersburg, Fla.; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the Newcomer North Kansas City Chapel; burial in Green Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. tonight at the chapel. The family requests no flowers and suggest contributions to the American Cancer Society.
