Smith—Ray

Miss Hazel V. Ray, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas F. Ray, of Richmond, Ind., and Albert J. Smith, son of Mr. and Mrs. James C. Smith, of Washington, were married yesterday at the parsonage of Third Lutheran Church. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. S. J. McDowell, pastor. Miss Jane Burgess was bridesmaid and Earle R. Strong was best man. Miss Helen M. SMith, sister of the bridegroom, also was present. After a trip to Atlantic City, Mr. and Mrs. Smith will live in Washington.

Mrs. Albert James Smith

Word has been received of the death Wednesday in Washington, D.C., of Mrs. Hazel Ray Smith, former Richmond resident and graduate of the local high school. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas F. Ray. She left Richmond for Washington where she was secretary to Gen. Charles Staltzman. For the past 25 years she had been associated with the firm of Miller and Schroeder in radio and television law.

Surviving, besides the husband, are a sister, Mrs. Florence Ray Ascher, and a niece, both of Rushville, and a nephew in Chicago.

Services for Mrs. Smith were held at Hines Funeral Home in Washington, D.C., at 2 p.m. Friday, with burial in Arlington National.
