Randolph, Apr. 14—Struck by an automobile almost directly in front of his house in Main street, Frank Carpenter Adams, 59, proprietor of the F. C. Adams company general store at East Randolph, was instantly killed Friday night.
The death car was driven by Alton Peterson of this village.
Two witnesses told Coroner P. H. Bourne of Salamanca, who investigated the accident, that Adams stepped directly into the path of the car from the sidewalk. Peterson was not held and Coroner Bourne issued a verdict of accidental death.

Mr. Adams was one of the leading business men of the village and had lived in East Randolph for many years. He lived alone in his home in Main street, but had a housekeeper. He was a member of the Elks' lodge of Salamanca and is survived by his wife and a brother.
