Mrs. John Stambaugh Dies Near Loganville

Loganville—Mrs. Lucy F. Stambaugh, 66 years old, wife of John E. Stambaugh, Dallastown R. D. 1, near here, died at 3:30 o'clock yesteday morning at her home. She had been in ill health for some time. Surviving besides her husband are two brothers, Isaac Ness, Dallastown, and Levi F. Ness, Dallastown R. D. 1. The funeral will be held Thursday with brief services from the home at 9:30 a. m., and further rites at the Codorus Church of The Brethren. Revs. S. C. Godfrey and George Keeney will foficiate. Interment will be made in the cemetery adjoining the church. Funeral Director Purd A. Riedel, Dallastown, has charge of arrangements.

Funeral services for John E. Stambaugh, husband of Mrs. Mamie E. Stambaugh, 319 Linden avenue, who died Monday, were held yesterday at Riedel Funeral Home, Dallastown. The Rev. S. C. Godfrey and the Rev. George Keeny, of the Codorus Church of the Brethren, officiated. The pallbearers, relatives of Mr. Stambaugh, were Harry Stambaugh, Paul Stambaugh, Earl Stambaugh, Preston Stambaugh, Carl Stambaugh and Norman Stambaugh Jr. Burial was in the Codorus Church of the Brethren Cemetery, near Loganville.

Mamie E. Stambaugh

Mamie E. Stambaugh of York died at 10:35 a.m. Saturday at Manor Care Kingston Court after a brief illness. She was 102.

Mrs. Stambaugh was a retired cook for three former York area restaurants: Yost's, Bennie's and Mack's.

She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ.

She was a member of Farm Women's Society Group 2.

Born in York County, Nov. 16, 1892, she was a daughter of the late William and Mary Geese Hoffman. She was the wife of the late John Stambaugh.

She leaves two daughters, Lillian M. Godfrey, Dallastown, and Betty King, East Berlin; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.

The service is at 11 a.m. tomorrow at John W. Keffer Funeral Home Inc., 902 Mount Rose Ave., with her associate pastor, the Rev. Pamela J. Keckler, officiating.

Burial will be in Pleasant View Church Cemetery, North Hopewell Townships.

Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Church of Christ, 32 W. Market St., York 17401.
