Shanks-Stambaugh Marriage

The marriage of Miss Charlotte Lena Shanks, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Emory Shanks, R. R. 1, Troy, and William Elwood Stambaugh, son of Mrs. Joseph Frickle, East Water street, was solemnized at 8:45 o'clock Easter morning in the home of the officiating minister, Rev. Lester Schlechty, 121 West Market street, Troy.

The single ring service was recited while the vows were being exchanged. The attendants were Leola and William Shanks. The ceremony was witnessed by Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Shanks and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Williams of Dayton and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Frickle of Troy.

Mr. Stambaugh is in the employ of the Hobart Cabinet company. The couple has established a new home on Water street.

CHARLOTTE STAMBAUGH

Charlotte Lorene Stambaugh, 86, of Troy, died at 4 a.m. Monday, Dec. 25, 2000 at her residence.

She was born Aug. 31, 1914 in Miami County to Emory and Frances Gertrude (Ingle) Shanks.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William E. Stambaugh in 1980; three sisters and two brothers.

Mrs. Stambaugh is survived by two daughters, Dixie Martin of Calera, Ala. and Carol A. Miller of Birmingham, Ala.; one son, Richard Stambaugh of Indianapolis; seven grandchildren, Faith Ann Miller, Tonya Martin, Rhonda Anderson, Robin Stambaugh, Carla Shaner, Shawn Stambaugh, Rene Stambaugh and six great-grandchildren.

She was a member of the Living Water Ministries; past president and treasurer of the church's Ladies Ministry.

She was employed as a waitress at K's Hamburger Shop in Troy and at Woolworth's in Piqua.

Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 30 at Baird Funeral Home. The Rev. Linda Spicer will officiate.

Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Vandalia. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 29 at the funeral home.
