ALBANY—Funeral services for Harry Flora, 48, who died at his home in Albany Wednesday night after a long illness, will be held at 2 p. m. Saturday at the Sharer funeral home.
The Rev. W. N. Grandy, Evanston, Albany Methodist pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Hillcrest cemetery. Pallbearers will be Frank Watts, Dell Jones, C. F. Reinitz, C. H. Ferguson, Fay Wescott, and Ray Chesbro.
Mr. Flora served overseas several months in the first World war. He was born at Lone Rock and came to Albany with his parents when a boy. His wife is the former Hazel Sutherland, Albany.
Survivors include his wife and a daughter, Marilyn.

ALBANY—Glen Sparks, 77, Rt. 1 died Saturday at St. Clare Hospital in Monroe of a stroke.
He was born Jan. 5, 1891, in Delta, Iowa, and was married in 1912 to Mary Garrett. She preceded him in death in 1942. He then married Hazel Florie on Dec. 26, 1945.
Survivors include a son, Robert Sparks Sr. of Fort Collins, Colo.; a stepdaughter, Mrs. William Price, Albany; three brothers, Don of Prairie City, Iowa, Paul of Bloomfield, Iowa, and Lowell of West Plains, Mo.; two sisters, Mrs. Ralph Sanders, Kalispell, Mont., and Mrs. Marvel Hensley, Mountain Home, Ark.; three grandsons and four step-grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Sharer Funeral Home, Albany. The body then will be taken to What Cheer, Iowa, where services will be held Thursday. Burial will be in the Garrett Cemetery in Iowa. Friends may call this afternoon and evening at the funeral home in Albany.

ALBANY—Mrs. Hazel S. Sparks, 84, of Albany, died Sunday at St. Clare Hospital, Monroe.
The former Hazel Sutherland, born in Green County March 25, 1894, was married to Harry Flora Aug. 24, 1920. He died in 1944. She was married to Glen Sparks in December 1945. He died in 1969.
Mrs. Sparks was a seamstress for many years, operating a sewing shop at her home for men's and women's clothes and wedding apparel. She was a member of Albany United Methodist Church and Royal Neighbors.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Marilyn Pryce, Brodhead, a stepson, Robert Sparks, Fort Collins, Colo., seven grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, a brother, Ross Sutherland, of Albany, and two sisters, Mrs. Helen Knowland in California, and Mrs. Blanche Ringhand, Rockford.
Services are at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Gelke's Sharer Funeral Home, with burial in Hillcrest Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 tonight.

MONROE - Marilyn B. Pryce, age 81, of Monroe, formerly of rural Brodhead, died Monday, April 20, 2009, at Monroe Clinic Hospital.
She was born Feb. 6, 1928, in Albany, the daughter of Harry and Hazel (Sutherland) Flora, graduated from Albany High School in 1945, and attended business college in Madison. Marilyn and William D. Pryce were married April 5, 1946, at Albany United Methodist Church. Marilyn worked fro Baker Manufacturing in Evansville, the Five and Dime store in Brodhead, Advance Transformer in Monroe, and helped on the family farm. She was a member of Brodhead United Methodist Church and former member of Albany United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her husband, William "Bill" Pryce of Monroe; children, Harry (Sharon) Pryce of rural Brodhead, Greg (Cindy) Pryce of rural Brodhead, Peggy Keeney of rural Brodhead, and Jeff (Kristy) Pryce of rural Albany; eight grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents; grandsons, Shane and Brady Pryce; and granddaughter in infancy.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 23, 2009, at Brodhead United Methodist Church with Pastor Steve Groves and Pastor Cal Shaver officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Albany. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 22, 2009, at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home, 1455 Mansion Drive and 18th Ave., in Monroe.
A memorial fund is being established in Marilyn's memory.
