ALBANY (Times Special) —Mrs. Louis Sutherland, 82, died at 5 a. m. today at her home three miles west of Albany. She had been in ill health for two years.
Mrs. Sutherland, the former Hattie Edwards, was born April 23, 1872, in Bremer County, Ia., the daughter of Pembroke and Mary Bailey Edwards. On Dec. 6, 1891, she was married to Louis Sutherland in Albany Methodist church by the late Rev. H. A. Rogers. They lived all their married life in the Albany area, except for 14 years spent in West Plains, Mo.
She leaves her husband, four daughters, Mrs. Ted Krowland, Hollandale, Calif., Mrs. Conrad Ringhand, Rockford, Mrs. Glenn Sparks and Mrs. Lee Sanderlin, Albany; one son, Ross, at home; one brother, Ray Edwards, Janesville; nine grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Howard, and a son in infancy.
Services will be Monday at 2 p. m. in the Sharer funeral home with Rev. W. C. Snow officiating. Burial will be in Gap church cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday afternoon and evening.

ALBANY—Louis A. Sutherland, 90, died at 1:45 p. m. Friday in St. Clare Hospital, Monroe, where he had been a patient for two weeks.
The son of Arick and Charlotte Ball Sutherland, he was born Aug. 6, 1868, in Sylvester Township. He was married to Hattie D. Edwards Dec. 16, 1891. They lived in this area except for a few years in Missouri. Mrs. Sutherland and a son, Howard, preceded him in death.
Surviving are a son, Ross, at home; four daughters, Mrs. Helen Knowland, Hollydale, Calif., Mrs. Hazel Sparks and Mrs. Charlotte Sanderlin, Albany, and Mrs. Ringhand, Rockford; two sisters, Mrs. Lydia Stephenson, Albany, and Mrs. Nell Provost, Maumee, Ohio; a brother, Dr. Justice Sutherland, Wood Veterans Hospital; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
The body is at the Sharer Funeral Home pending arrangements.
