ALBANY — Funeral services for Howard Sutherland, 44, native of Green county, who died unexpectedly Tuesday at his home in Long Beach, Calif., will be held Saturday at the Sharer funeral home here, with burial in the Gap cemetery, four miles east of Albany.
Mr. Sutherland was born March 13, 1897, in Sylvester township, Green county. He married Madge Jones, Albany, at Rockford, Ill. They lived at Long Beach for nine years.
Surviving are his widow, four children, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Sutherland, Albany, and four sisters, Mrs. Harry Flora and Mrs. Lee Sanderlin, both of Albany; Mrs. Conrad Ringhand, Rockford, Ill., and Mrs. T. E. Knowlands, Southgate, Calif.

MADISON/NEW GLARUS — Mrs. Cora E. Zimmerman, age 95, of Madison, a former Savannah, Illinois resident, passed away on Monday, December 3, 1990, at the Leader Nursing Home, Madison, where she had been a resident since 1986. The former Cora E. Smith was born on May 29, 1895, in Albany County, Kentucky, the daughter of Scott and Elizabeth (Parsons) Smith. She first married Howard Sutherland; and in 1926 she married Ray L. Zimmerman. He preceded her in death in 1976. She was a life long member of the Methodist Church, and was very active in 4-H and the American Legion Auxiliary during her life. SHe is survived by two sons, Kenneth (Barbara) Zimmerman of Madison, and Howard Sutherland Jr. of Darlington; four daughters, Mrs. Robert (Shirley) Eckerman of Warren, Illinois, Mrs. Gladys McGlynn of Shullsburg, Wisconsin, Mrs. Vivian Moeller of Clinton, Iowa, and Florence Zimmerman of Madison; and grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a daughter, Vest Gille. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 6, at 11:00 a.m. at the Zentner-Beal Funeral Home, New Glarus. THe Reverend William Stevens will officiate, with burial in Highland Cemetery, Monticello. Relatives and friends may call on Thursday after 10:a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
