Walter Stanley

Walter Stanley, 72 years old, of 320 North A street, died Saturday afternoon.

A retired employee of the Starr Piano company, Mr. Stanley was born and reared in Richmond. He was a veteran of World War I.

Survivors include the widow, Clara; one stepdaughter, Mrs. John Atkins of Richmond; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Services for Mr. Stanley will be held at 3 p. m. Monday at the jones and Placke funeral home. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens with Rev. Donald Wilks of the Trinity Methodist church officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p. m. Sunday.

Mrs. Walter Stanley

Mrs. Clara M. Stanley, 83, who formerly lived at 1201 North West Fourth St., died at Smith-Esteb Home early Wednesday morning following a lengthy illness.

She was a native of Wayne County and spent most of her life here. She was the widow of Walter Stanley.

Mrs. Stanley was a member of the First Christian Church at Winchester, the Daughters of America, Rebekah Lodge, and the Degree of Honor.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Pearl Atkins, with whom she formerly lived; four grand-children, and 11 great-grandchildren.

Services for Mrs. Stanley will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Rev. Lavern Skinner, minister of Trinity United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Glenhaven Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 3 to t and 7 to 9 p.m.
