Mrs. A. C. Thomas announces the marriage of Mrs. Gladys E. Roberts to John Bates Thomas. The wedding took place Saturday at 4 p. m. in the First Lutheran church, with the Rev. Arthur L. Marh officiating. The ceremony was attended only by the immediate families.

John Bates Thomas

Funeral services for John Bates Thomas, 66,3330 North Meridian Street, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Flanner and Buchanan Fall Creek Mortuary. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.

He died Saturday in West 10th Street Veterans Administration Hospital.

A native of Indianapolis, Mr. Thomas had lived here since he retired from the Joanna Western Shade Company at Chicago in 1959.

A member of SS. Peter and Paul Cathedral. He was a veteran of World War II. He attended Wabash College and was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity.

He is survived by the widow, Mrs. Gladys E. Thomas.

Private services are planned for Gladys E. Thomas, 85, Indianapolis, who died Wednesday in a nursing home. There will be no calling. Mrs. Thomas was a former member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Cathedral. She was the widow of John B. Thomas. Survivors — daughter E. Jane Gallagher; one grandchild.
