Receptions

A very pretty and enjoyable reception was given Thursday evening by Miss Ada Widdrington in honor of William Widdrington of Indianapolis, Ind., formerly of this city, and his bride, who was Miss Bessie Bates of Indianapolis. Miss Widdrington was assissted by Mr. and Mrs. Widdrington of Perryville, the Misses Marian and Ethel Widdrington. The house and lawn were prettily decorated for the occasion and music was furnished by the Orlando Orchestra. After refreshments had been served dancing was enjoyed. One of the evening's attractions was the gypsy camp, where the past, present and future was foretold by Mrs. D. Linehan, who added much to the pleasure of the evening.

W. P. Widdrington

Private Christian Science services for William P. Widdrington, 86, of 627 E. Princeton Ave., will be held in the John N. Lisle Chapel tomorrow. Cremation will be in the Chapel of the Light; burial in Belmont Memorial Park will follow.

Widdrington died yesterday in a local nursing home of complications after an attack of pneumonia. He was born in London, England. He came to California in 1919, and made his home in Alhambra, Los Angeles County.

He was a salesman for many years. He retired in 1947 and moved to Fresno.

Surviving are his widow, Bessie of Fresno; a daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth B. Snow, of Fresno; a brother, Frederick, of Syracuse, N.Y.; two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Stewart of Brewerton, N.Y., and Mrs. Kate D. Illsbough of Inglewood, Los Angeles County.

Mrs. Widdrington

Private funeral services for Mrs. Bessie Wilgus Widdrington, 87, of 627 E. Princeton Ave. were held yesterday in the John N. Lisle Chapel. Inurnment followed in the Chapel of the Light.

Mrs. Widdrington died Monday in a local rest home after an illness of two and a half months.

A native of Indiana, she had lived in Fresno County 20 years. She formerly lived for 27 years in Alhambra.

Her husband, William, a wholesale paper broker, died in 1965.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Snow of Fresno, and a sister, Mrs. Edna Thomas of Indianapolis, Ind.

Services for Elizabeth B. Snow, 72, of Fresno will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in the Tinkler Mission Chapel. Cremation will follow in the Chapel of the Light.

Mrs. Snow died Tuesday.

She was born in Indiana and lived in Fresno 36 years. She was a housewife.

Surviving is her husband, Nathan.
