Margery Woolf Nichols

1920 ~ 2011

Margery Woolf Nichols died December 20, 2011 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born in Raymond, Alberta, Canada, the fourth child of DeVoe and Marjorie McCarthy Woolf. The family moved to Salt Lake City when she was a young child. She graduated from South High School and then attended the University of Utah. She was employed most of her adult life by Strevell-Patterson Hardware Company in Salt Lake City, Utah where she became Office Manager and then Director of Personnel. She was very active in the Executive Women's International, serving as president of the local chapter as well as on the national board of the organization. She traveled throughout the United States and to Europe and countries in the far and near east. She loved the time spent with the Ambassador Bowlerettes, where she acquired lifetime friends who still meet for lunch.

She married Eugene S. Nichols on May 1, 1942. They were later divorced. She was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Green Redd, and three brothers, DeVoe M. Woolf, Richard M. Woolf, and Dr. Robert M. Woolf. She is survived by her son, Michael S. Nichols (Pat), Georgetown, Texas; grandson Thomas S. Nichols (Cale), Mill Valley, Ca., and great-grandchildren, Barrett Nichols, Samantha Nichols and Wyatt Nichols. She is also survived by her best friend and long time companion Andrew Wadstrom, and her brothers Dr. Charles M. Woolf (Marion), Mesa, AZ, and Dr. John M. Woolf (Geraldine), Tucson, AZ.
