HAD QUIET HOME WEDDING

Leland Yancey and Grace Strother Now Are on a Bridal Trip

Miss Grace Elizabeth Strother, formerly of this city, was married to Mr. Thomas Leland Yancey, cashier of the Bank of Saline, at her home in Glendale, California, on Thursday, June 7, at a quiet home wedding.

An altar of palms and tall baskets of pink gladiolas was improvised in front of the mantle, which was banked with baskets of pink gladiolas and sweet peas in pastel shades. At each side of the altar was a tall silver candelabrum holing five candles in pastel shades. Bowls of flowers were used throughout the living room.

At the appointed hour to the strains of Mendelssohn's Wedding March the bride entered preceded by little Miss Pamela Ann Blakey, flower girl, and attended by Mrs. Wesley Safford, matron of honor. At the improvised altar she was met by the groom.

The bride was lovely in a dress of shell pink chiffon and carried a shower bouquet of Butterfly roses and lillies of the valley. Mrs. Safford's gown was apricot georgette and she carried a bouquet of salmon roses and orchid sweet peas. The little flower girl was charming in pink taffeta and carried a round basket from which she scattered rose petals.

Following the ceremony, buffet refreshments were served from the dining table which was laid with a handsome tatted luncheon cloth. In the center was an attractively decorated bride's cake set in a wreath of shell pink tulle, flanked by pink candles.

Later in the evening Mr. and Mrs. Yancey departed for a wedding trip which will include the Grand Canyon. The bride's traveling dress was an ensemble of blue and tan with hat to match. They will make their home after June 20 at 461 W. Summit, Marshall.
