He married ELSIE LOUISE STOOPS on December 22, 1938 in Monticello, Lewis, Missouri.⁴²⁷⁶ She was born February 24, 1914 in Ellsworth, McLean, Illinois,⁴⁵⁶ and died January 19, 2007 in Tucson, Pima, Arizona.⁴⁵⁶ She is buried in East Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery and Mausoleum, Bloomington, McLean, Illinois.⁴⁵⁶

MORELAND, James V., 63, of Tucson, died December 19, 1976. Husband of Elsie L. of Tucson; father of James K. Moreland of Harrison, Ohio; four grandchildren; brother of Julia Rees of Ellsworth, Ill. and Kenneth Moreland of Normal, Ill. Funeral services and interment will be held in Bloomington, Ill. ABBEY FUNERAL CHAPEL is in charge of local arrangements.

J. Virgil Moreland, 63, of Tuscon, Ariz., and formerly of Ellsworth and Normal, died at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Tuscon General Hospital, Tuscon. He had been in ill health.

The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in Eastlawn Memorial Chapel, the Rev. Dennis Blakenship officiating. Burial will be in Eastlawn memorial Park.

Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at memorial home.

He was born Feb. 24, 1913, in Secor, a son of Richard and Carrie Street Moreland. He married Elsie Stoops Dec. 22, 1938, in Elmira, Mo. She survives.

Also surviving are a son, Keith, in Ohio; a sister, Mrs. Julia Rees, Ellsworth; a brother, Kenneth, 107 Williams Drive, Normal, and four grandchildren.

Two brothers preceded him in death.

He worked at the University of Arizona experimental farm.
