Miss Virginia Allin, daughter of Mrs. Marie Allin, McLean, and Kenneth O. Moreland, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. R. Moreland of Secor, were married at 3 p. m. Sunday, June 1, at the home of the Rev. Lloyd G. Strouse in Bloomington.
Attending the couple were Mr. and Mrs. Gaylord Moreland of Morton. The bride was attired in a street length white silk jersey frock, fashioned with draped cap sleeves and bustle back. She wore a white halo hat with shoulder length veil and matching accessories. Her corsage was of deep pink carnations. Mrs. Moreland wore a red dress with black and white accessories and a red carnation corsage.
The bride attended McLean school, graduating from high school in 1945. Mr. Moreland, a World War II veteran, spent 40 months in service, which included duty as commanding officer in the southwest Pacific.
After a short honeymoon they will reside at 211 South University street, Normal. Both are students at Illinois State Normal university.

NORMAL — Kenneth Orman Moreland, 90, of Normal died at 1:30 p.m. Sunday (May 15, 2005) at ASTA Care Center, Bloomington.
His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington, the Rev. David W. Gaffron officiating. Burial will be in McLean Cemetery, McLean, with military service by Carl S. Martin Post 635 American Legion, Normal. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the memorial home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
He was born March 26, 1915, at Eureka to Harper Richard and Carrie Viola Street Moreland. He married Virginia Allin on June 1, 1947, at Bloomington. She survives.
Also surviving are a son, Kenneth Allin (Cheryl) Moreland, Indianapolis; and a daughter, Kristan (Lloyd) Nash, Westport, Conn.; four grandchildren, Sarah Moreland, Indianapolis; and Leah Nash (David Engert), Daniel Nash and Timothy Nash, all of Westport; and three great-grandchildren, Lucas, Graham and Annabel Nash-Engert, all of Westport.
His parents, one sister and three brothers preceded him in death.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion and the John H. Kraus VFW Post 454.
Mr. Moreland first taught in country schools in Woodford County prior to World War II. Later he was principal at the McLean Grade School in McLean and then served as superintendent in the McLean/Waynesville school district. He also was a director at the McLean County Teaching Center and was an assistant professor at Illinois State University. His teaching career spanned 42 years, retiring in 1984.
