Mrs. Claudia E. Senft, wife of W. Clarence Senft, died at her home on North Main street, Spring Grove, at 3:38 i'clock yesterday afternoon. Death was caused by pneumonia and followed an illness of one week. She was 53 years old. Mrs. Senft was an active worker for many years in Mt. Zion Reformed congregation, being superintendent of the primary department of the Sunday school for many years. For a number of years she served as church organist. Mrs. Senft was graduated from the Shippensburg State Teachers' college in 1906 and later taught school in Jackson township and Spring Grove.All her life was spent in Spring Grove and its vicinity. She leaves her husband, a son and a daughter, Donald E. Senft and Rose Marie Morton; her mother, Mrs. Rosa Stambaugh, Spring Grove; a sister, Mrs. John A Fultz, Spring Grove, and a brother, C. A. Stambaugh, West York. Her father was the late Albert Stambaugh. The funeral will be held at 1:30 o'clock on Friday afternoon. All services will be held at her home. The Rev. Dr. George W. Welsh, pastor of Mt. Zion Reformed church, will officiate. He will be assisted by the Rev. Ralph C. Robinson, pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran church, Spring Grove. Burial will be in the Spring Grove cemetery.

Spring Grove — William C. Senft, founder of Senft Furniture store, died at 5:55 a.m. yesterday at his home, 53 South Main street, after a 10-month illness. He ws 76.
Mr. Senft, who founded the store 40 years ago, retired from the business about a year ago. The firm is operated by his son, Donald E. Senft, 53 South Main street.
Mr. Senft was a former local rural mail carrier and employe of P. H. Glatfelter company. He was a life-long member of St. Paul's Lutheran church and Sunday school. Mr. Senft, a son of the late Edward and Lydia Hoffman Senft, was a member of Friendship Hose company.
Surviving, besides his son, are his wife, Mrs. Mae Knaub Senft; a daughter, Mrs. Earl C. Yohe, Old Forge Heights; a step-son, Luther A. Strayer, Mt. Wolf, a granddaughter, four step grandchildren, a brother, Edmond H. Senft, York; four sisters, Mrs. Daisy Moul, Mrs. Viola Stitt, Edna Senft and Mrs. Spurgeon Gotwalt all of York.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Sauter Funeral home North Main street. His pastor, Rev. E. Elwood Moreland, will officiate. Interment will be in Spring Grove cemetery.
