CHILLICOTHE, Mo.— Helen Pearl Atha, 79, died Sunday evening at a health care center in Chillicothe.
She was born in Hopkins, Mo., on Aug. 9, 1905. She moved from Hopkins to Chillicothe in 1928.
She was employed as a general manager of the Chamber of Commerce in Chillicothe, retiring in April 1974. She was a member of the Hopkins Christian Church.
Surviving are her husband, Dr. Lloyd L. Atha of the home, whom she married on Dec. 15, 1927. Additional survivors include three brothers, Archie Davison and Harvey Davison, both of Bedford, Iowa, and Harland Davison, Hopkins; a sister, Lula Carmichael, Hopkins; and several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Lindley Funeral Home at Chillicothe. The body will be cremated and no services will be held at the funeral home. Friends may call at the funeral home chapel from noon until 9 p.m. today.

Graveside memorial services for Dr. Lloyd L. Atha, 86, who died Sunday at Hedrick Medical Center, will be conducted by Lindley Funeral Home, at a date to be announced. There will be cremation.
Dr. Atha, retired in 1977 from optometry, which had had practiced in Chillicothe since 1927. He resided at 1107 Green Street.
Born Nov. 24, 1898 in Fuller, Wis., he was a son of John F. and Elta Turner Atha. He married Pearl Davidson Dec. 15, 1926. Mr. Atha was a member of the Methodist Church in Seward, Neb.
Surviving are two daughters, Doris Mae Longman, Omaha, Neb., and Lora Lee Ring, Houston Texas, and sister, Edith Charles, Springfield.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jan. 20, 1985.
