Jacqueline Lewis Is Wed To J. E. Ballou At Christian Church

Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Carey announce the marriage of their daughter, Miss Jacquelyn Lewis to James E. Ballou, son of Mrs. Mildred Ballou of Lincoln.

The ceremony was performed in the presence of the immediate families at four o'clock Saturday afternoon, May 27, at the Ashland Christian church. Rev. H. H. Utterback, church pastor, officiated.

Miss Catherine Buck and Max Welch were the attendants.

A reception for the wedding party was held at the J. B. Ballou home in Ashland immediately following the ceremony.

The young couple will reside on their farm near Allerton, Ia. Both Mr. and Mrs. Ballou are graduates of the Ashland high school and have many friends in this community who extend congratulations.

Obituaries

James E. Ballou was born in Ashland, Nebraska to Martin E. and Mildred (Manley) Ballou on May 26, 1930. He died December 13, 2014 in Fort Collins, CO. Jim graduated from Ashland High School in 1947 and farmed in Iowa and Nebraska. He moved to Southern California in 1958 where he held a variety of sales positions. In 1983, Jim returned to Lincoln, NE where he was a manager at Park Place Cadillac. He was a salesman at Duteau Chevrolet until he retired in 1999. Jim loved to restore automobiles and homes. He was a resident of Fort Collins, CO from 2001 – 2014.

He is survived by his wife Dalene, daughter Cathy Merryman and her husband Steve, step-son Tom Piper Ballou, granddaughters Angie Schumacher and her husband Jim, and Melinda Merryman, sister Delores Olson, brother Gene and his wife Wanda, 6 nieces, 6 nephews.4295
