Death Of Mrs. Emma Edwards

Mrs. Emma Edwards, age 80 years, wife of W. M. Edwards, and one of the best known and prominent women of Knightstown, died at her home in South Adams street, at midnight Wednesday, of paralysis which came upon her last Sunday. At the time she was stricken Mrs. Edwards lapsed into unconsciousness and remained in that condition until the end. She had suffered a slight stroke about a year ago. Mrs. Edwards had not been in good health for several months.

She was a prominent member of Bethel Presbyterian Church and was until recently active in both club and church work. Mrs. Edwards was a charter member of the Shakespeare Club of Knightstown, and assisted in organization of this club, and had been a worker in the church since her girlhood days. Mr. and Mrs. Edwards celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary last September 29th.

Mrs. Edwards was the daughter of Harvey and "Aunt" Susan Bell, pioneer residents of Knightstown, and was born on the lot and in the same house where she died.

Besides her husband she is survived by two sons, Frank Edwards of this city, and Russell Edwards of Indianapolis, and one daughter, Mrs. Ethel Bell of Knightstown.

At the hour of going to press arrangements for the funeral had not been completed, but services will probably be held Sunday.
