Mrs. Sarah Thayer, who has been an invalid for more than twenty years, died at the home of her son-in-law, Charles Deeter, 107 Highland avenue, yesterday morning of pneumonia. Mrs. Thayer had been seriously ill only two days. Funeral services will be held at the family home this morning at 9 o'clock. The body will be taken to Knightstown, her former home, for burial.

News reached here Tuesday shortly before noon of the death, at eleven o'clock that morning, of Mrs. Sarah E. Thayer, at the [h]ome of her daughter, Mrs. Chas. Deeter, in Indianapolis. Mrs. Thayer was, until two years ago, a resident of Knightstown, and she was known to nearly everyoe here.
She was taken ill recently with pneumonia, but ha taken a turn for the better. However, complications came up which caused her death. Mrs. Thayer has been for over fifteen years an invalid. She suffered with muscular rheumatism, and during all those years was practically helpless, and could not walk a step. Through all her sufferings, however, she was patient and kind, and her lovable disposition and Christian character endeared her to all who came in contact with her.
Mrs. Thayer was sixty-seven years old, and was born in Knightstown. She had lived here all her life until two years ago, when she moved to Indianapolis to live with her daughters. She was married to Danidal Thayer, who died eighteen years ago. She was a member of the Presbyterian church.
Mrs. Thayer leaves two daughters, Mrs. Charles Deeter and Miss Lena Thayer, of Indianapolis; two sons, Hart and Grant Thayer, this city; two brothers, John Bell and William N. Bell, Knightstown; two sisters, Mrs. Tilghman Fish, this city, and Mrs. Mary Plimpton, of Aurora, Ill.; and a half-sister, Mrs. W. M. Edwards, Knightstown.
The remains arrived here Wednesday at noon, and the funeral was held at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the home of Tilghman Fish. Interment was had at the Barrett cemetery.
