St. Mary's Cathedral, Lincoln, was the scene of the wedding of Miss Virginia Bischof, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George H. Bischof, Nebraska City, to Donald W. Chaloupka, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Chaloupka, Bridgeport, Saturday morning, July 3. The ceremony was performed by Rev. George Schuester at 10 o'clock. Only immediate relatives and close friends attended.
The bride wore a white embroidered batiste suit with white accessories, and a corsage of white orchids. Mrs. Donald Lentz, Lincoln, her attendant, wore a cream sheer suit with navy blue accessories. Prof. Donald Lentz, Lincoln, attended Mr. Chaloupka.
Garden flowers were used as a background for the ceremony. Places were arranged for 25 for the wedding breakfast given by the bride's parents at the Cornhusker Hotel.
Majoring in Physical Education at the University of Nebraska, Mrs. Chaloupka served as laboratory instructor in human anatomy for the last two years, and received the highest scholarship average in the Physical Education department for the past year. While in school she was a member of Tanksterettes, Orchesis, and the Physical Education Club Council.
Mr. Chaloupka, since March 9, was stationed at United States Naval Reserve Midshipmen's School, Northwestern University, where he graduated as an ensign July 1. He graduated from the men's department of Physical Education at University of Nebraska in January. He was vice president of ROTC Varsity Bank, and received the Bank Key award for 1942. He was a member of the senior honor roll at the university this year.

Virginia Chaloupka passed away January 29, at Mantey Heights Care Center in Grand Junction, CO.
Mary Virginia Bischof was born November 13, 1921, in Nebraska City, Nebraska, the third child of six, to George and Katherine Bischof. She attended the University of Nebraska, graduating with a degree in Education.
She and Donald Chaloupka were married on July 3, 1943, days after their college graduation. Don immediately reported for duty in the U.S. Navy. Following WWII they returned to live in Nebraska City where their six children were born and they both taught in the public school system. In 1957, upon Don's earning his Doctor of Education degree, the family moved to Greeley, Colorado. Both Don and Virginia worked for the University of Northern Colorado, where Virginia managed the College Credit Union for 16 years. THey built their dream home in Fraser, Colorado, and moved to Fraser in 1985 following their retirement.
Don died in 1994 and Virginia maintained their home in Fraser until 2005, when she moved to Windsor, CO, and later moved to Grand Junction to be near family. She enjoyed Bridge, sewing, travel and especially family get togethers, where her cooking was loved by all.
Virginia is survived by her children, Allan (Phyllis) of Bellingham, WA; Kathy and Karen of Grand Junction; Patricia and Meg (Paul) of Montrose, and Gregg of Aspen. She is also survived by sisters, Lucille and Margaret; eight grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.

A funeral mass celebrating her life will be held in the spring.
