225 Attend Open House for the Kenneth Bowmans

Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Bowman were honor guests in observance of their 25th wedding anniversary on Sunday, June 13, in fellowship hall of the United Methodist Church. Hosts for this were the Bowman's children Duane and Deborah Bowman of Malvern. Approximately 225 signed the register.

Guests were received in a room decorated with blue and white streamers and silver touches. A bulletin board display of Kenny and Mary's past 25 years provided much merriement for their guests.

A table of marriage mementos added a little more highlight to the day. On display was the first marriage license acquired but couldn't be used because it was gotten in the wrong county. Today this would make no difference. So Kenneth had to purchase two licenses.

Members of their wedding party who were present to share the special day were Mrs. Ruth Brownlee, matron of honor; Mrs. Eva Moyer, bridesmaid; Donald Fisher, groomsman; Gale Fisher, ring bearer, and Mrs. Giula Clark, flower girl.

The tea table, overlaid with a white cloth, was centered with a white annerversary cake topped with white wedding bells, silver leaves and white roses. White tapers flanked the cake and silver appointments were used on the table.

Presiding at the tea table were sisters, sister-in-law and aunts of the couple: Mrs. Ruth Brownlee, Mrs. Faye Pullen, and Mrs. Erma Barr served the sheet cakes; Mrs. Wylma Fisher and Mrs. Bertha Fisher, Mrs. Lela Sherman, served coffee; Mrs. Betty Boman, Mrs. Mildred Slump, and Mrs. Eva Moyer, served punch.

Host and hostesses for the dining room were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Erickson, Essex, and Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Scott, Miss Linda Fisher, Omaha, and Mrs. Lyle Brownlee, Denver, cared for gifts and cards. Mrs. Deleve Barthloama cared for the flowers. Martha Circle of United Methodist Church served the reception.

Guests were present from Loveland, Fort Collins, and Denver, Colo.; Omaha, S. Sioux City and Bellevue, Nebr.; Goldfield, Boone, Greenfield, Corning, Sidney, Farragut, Clarinda, Shenandoah, Essex, Henderson, Macedonia, Leon, Co. Bluffs, Villisca and Malvern, Iowa.

This memorable event for the couple will be recorded by many pictures taken by Emmett Gipe and many others. Helpers in dining room wre Mrs. Margie Hattan, Greenfield; Miss Cathy Moyer, Loveland, Colo.; Miss Kathy Pullen, Henderson; and Miss Gloria Eshelman, Red Oak.
