FIRE DESTROYS BARN

Fire originated Tuesday in the back barn of Adam Chronister, near Iron Ridge, and burned the structure to the ground. Mr. Chronister was in Hanover at the time and the flames were first noticed by Mrs. Ann Kopp, who was visiting at the Chronister home. Neighbors hastily assembled and by means of a bucket brigade saved the outbuildings, which had been set on fire by sparks. All the live stock was in the fields and was saved. Half the hay crop was lost while all farming implements and a few vehicles were destroyed. The damage amounted to $1500 fully covered by insurance.
