Former Resident Wed

Miss Elizabeth Kiick, daugher of Mr. and Mrs. John C. Kiick, Ephrata, formerly of Hanover, and Rudolph Claudy, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Claudy, Rineholt, were married in a pretty ceemony performed in St. John's Lutheran church, Ephrata, Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock. Rev. Charles Smith, pastor, officiated.

The maid of honor was Alverta Hertzog. Bridesmaids were Lille Andes and Fern Pettuoffer. John Kiick, Jr., was best man. George Kiick and Earl Sweikert were ushers. The bride was dressed in white and wore a veil. She carried white roses and baby breaths.

A reception was held at the home of the bride's parents. Among those present were: Mary, Mabel and Clair Stambaugh, Pleasant street, Hanover, aunts and uncle of the bride.

Rudolph S. Claudy, Moyer Retiree

Rudolph S. Claudy, 86, of 120 E. Franklin St., Ephrata, died January 10 at Ephrata Community Hospital following a brief illness.

He was the husband of the late A. Elizabeth Kiick Claudy, who died in February 1986.

Born in Exeter Township, Berks County, he was a son of the late Charles M. and Susan Royer Claudy.

A retired shipping department head, he worked at W.W. Moyer Co., a former garment manufacturer in Ephrata, for over 15 years.

A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served in World War II.

He was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity, Ephrata.

Other memberships included the American Legion Post 429, Ephrata; the Ephrata Lions Club, where he served as a past president; Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3376, Ephrata, where he served as a past commander; Benevolent Protective Order of the Elks No. 1933, Ephrata, where he served as a past treasurer; the Golden Years Club of the Ephrata Recreation Center; and the Carousel Dance Club of Lancaster.

He was an avid golfer and dancer.

Survivors include a brother, Charles W. "Woody," husband of Frances Fassnacht Claudy, Reinholds, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The funeral was held from The Stradling Funeral Home Inc., 201 N. Church Ave., Ephrata, on Monday, January 13, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Richard F. Michael officiating. Interment was in Swamp Cemetery, West Cocalico Township.
