Tipman Cloudas, brother of J. B. Cloudas, died this morning at the family residence, 1107 South Phillips ave. Mr. Cloudas, who was 99 years old, came to Sioux Falls about a year ago to make his home with his only brother.
Sunday he apparently suffered from a severe cold and a doctor was summoned. Last evening he appeared to be more comfortable and expressed the hope that he would feel better this morning. Death came peacefully about 7 o'clock, itis thought, as he seemed to have died shortly before his brother went to his room to call him.
Mr. Cloudas will accompany the remains of his brother to their old home at Gallatin, Mo., and burial will take place in the family lot beside his wife. The remains are at the Miller Funeral home.

Pittman Cloudas, civil war veteran and a former well known resident of Chillicothe, died at the home of his brother, John Cloudas, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Monday morning. The remains arrived in Gallatin Wednesday where funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock from Bethel church conducted by Rev. C. W. Smith. Burial was made in the Bethel cemetery beside his wife. "Uncle Pitt" Cloudas was a well known character. The Sioux Falls Gazette gives the following account of his death:
"Death came early Monday morning to one more Civil War veteran, Pittman Cloudas, brother of John R. Cloudas, night police desk sergeant. Pittman would have been 88 years old next July. He died peacefully, apparently never wakening from the preceding night.
"Mr. Cloudas was born in Genton County, Ky., and from there moved to Gallatin, Mo., near where he farmed most of his life. He only ceased active farm operations in spite of his age, agout a year ago, when he came to live with his brother John at 1107 South Phillips avenue. He served and was wounded in the Civil War and knew Abraham Lincoln.
In spite of the old man's physical weakness, his mind remained clear to the end, according to his brother. He was up and around as usual the day and evening before his death. Burial will be at the old home near Gallatin.
