Bomber Crash Kills Six Near March Field

RIVERSIDE, Oct. 25.—The second crash of B-24 Liberator bomber from March Field in two days cost the lives of all six men aboard a ship returning to the air base late last night, it was announced today by Col. LeRoy A. Walthall, commanding officer of the field.

The four-motored craft came down about a mile northwest of the base and a half mile south of the junction of U.S. Highways 60 and 395 at the top of Box Springs grade. It exploded and burned.

Names of four of the dead were announced by Col. Walthall as 2nd Lt. Roy S. Cole, 24, pilot, Kingsville, Tex.; 2nd Lt. Anthony V. Galioto, 22, student navigator, Bloomfield, N.J.; Cpl. James E. Bertrand, 22, radio operator, Sleepy Eye, Minn., and Tech. Sgt. Harold Bentley, 27, engineer, Pound, Va.

Names of the other two victims were not made public pending notification of relatives.
