Parents Injured, Tot Critical In Two-Car Collision in S.L.

A 4-year-old girl was critically injured and her parents suffered lesser injuries Saturday about 4 p.m. when their automobile was rolled over in a collision with another auto at 11th West and Talisman Dr. (960 North).

Christine Cole, 4, suffered a depressed skull fracture when a can of paint in the rolling auto struck her in the head. She also suffered bruises and abrasions. Her mother, Marjorie Cole, 35, suffered a severe knee laceration and the father, William Kenneth Cole, 35, 1178 Colorado St. (1340 West), suffered a fractured femur.

Their automobile received an estimated $1,200 damage in a collision with a secon auto operated by Orval H. Ward, 27, 1910 Euclid Ave. (140 South). Officers estimated damage to the Ward auto at $250.

WILLIAM KENNETH (KENNY) COLE

Beloved companion, father, grandfather, and friend left this life for a better one on November 26, 1994.

Born in Kingsville, Texas to C.H. and Ruby Sawyers Cole. Served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II.

Married Marjorie Peterson on January 8, 1945. They shared 50 happy years. Worked at Kennecott Copper Smelter for 33 years. He made the world a little brighter with his good sense of humor. He will be missed and long remembered. Everyone was his friend. He made us all feel special.

Survived by wife; son and daughter, W. Ken Jr. (Pam); Christine Richins (Randy); brother, Jack; sister, Virginia; nine grandchildren, Cynthia, Cory, Julie, Bridget, Cami, Charese, Collett, Crystal, and Monica; one great-grandchild, Taneal. Preceded in death by son, Douglas W.; brothers, Roy and Carl.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon, Thursday Dec. 1, 1994 at Rose Park North Stake, 1155 No. 1200 West. Friends may call Wednesday evening at Russon Brothers Salt Lake Mortuary, 255 So. 200 East from 6-8 p.m. and from 10:45-11:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Interment Salt Lake City Cemetery.
