James Henry Day, Long in Reno, Dies

Harry James Day, Reno resident for many years, died yesterday at a local hospital following a brief illness. He was stricken with a heart attack about a week ago, his condition becoming critical Thursday.

He was a native of New York, aged 64 years, and had made his home in Reno since 1908. He formerly engaged in contracting work, but of late years had been employed as an accountant.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Josephine Day, and three daughters, Miss Florence Day of Reno, Mrs. Mary Stephens of Crescent Mills, Calif., and Mrs. Helen Loveridge of Arcata, Calif.

Friends are invited to attend the fuenral at 2 p. m. Monday at the O'Brien & Nugent chapel. Rev. Brewster Adams will officiate and interment will be in Mountain View cemetery.

Josephine Day

Josephine M. Day, 89, died Wednesday in a Reno hospital.

A native of Aspen, Colo., she had resided in Reno for 67 years and made her home at 909 S. Arlington Ave.

She was a lead work woman for the Southern Pacific Railroad during World War II.

Surviving are: daughters, Florence Day, of Reno, Mary Greiner, of Greenville, Calif., and Helen Loveridge, of Sacramento; a sister, Catherine Bischot, in Nebraska; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the O'Brien-Rogers and Crosby Funeral Home. Cremation will follow in Mountain View Cemetery.
