Miss Barbara Dean Engaged to Mr. Bolton

Mr. and Mrs. James L. Dean of Andover announce the engagement of their daughter, Miss Barbara Paige Dean to Mr. Wallace Ladd Bolton, son of Mrs. William W. Bolton of North Andover and the late Mr. Bolton.

Miss Dean is a graduate of Abbot Academy, Andover, and is now attending the Garland School. Mr. Bolton was graduated from Governor Dummer Academy and is now a student at Brown University.

Miss Barbara Dean Bride of Mr. Bolton

The South Church of Andover was decorated with white flowers and ferns yesterday afternoon for the wedding of Miss Barbara Paige Dean and Mr. Wallace Ladd Bolton, son of Mrs. William W. Bolton of North Andover and the late Mr. Bolton. The Rev. Frederick B. Noss performed the 4 o'clock ceremony and a reception followed at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Lindey Dean of Andover.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white satin gown with a net yoke embroidered with seed pearls, and her finger-tip veil of illusion was fastened to a coronet of seed pearls. She carried a cascade bouquet of lilies-of-the-valley and stephanotis with a white orchid center. Mrs. Mitchell Johnson, Jr., of Macedon, N. Y., was the matron of honor. Her pale green marquisette gown had a lace bodice and she carried yellow and purple pansies to match her headband.

The bridesmaids were Mrs. Phillips B. Marsden,Jr., of Westfield, N. J., sister of the bride; Mrs. Charles Henderson, Jr., of Chapel Hill, N. C. sister of the bridegroom; and Miss Elizabeth Sutherland Kurth and Miss Mary Jean Batal of Andover. Their yellow marquisette gowns were fashioned like that of the matron of honor and their flowers were similar.

Mrs. Dean, mother of the bride, wore gray chiffon with a pale pink camellia, and Mrs. Bolton, the bridegroom's mother, was gowned in beige crepe with a brown orchid.

Mr. William A. Barrell, Jr., of North Andover was the best man and the ushers included Mr. John Gaines Bolton of West Boxford, brother of the bridegroom; Mr. E. Kent Allen of Westford; and Mr. Charles Henderson, Jr., of Chapel Hill, N. C.

The bride was graduated from Abbot Academy and attended the Garland School. The bridegroom is a graduate of Governor Dummer Academy and is now attending Brown University. He is a member of Kelta Kappa Epsilon fraternity. They will be in West Boxford for the summer and will make their home in Providence in the fall.

Wallace L. Bolton, 84

PALM CITY, Fla. — Wallace L. Bolton, age 84, of Palm City, Fla., died on Friday, June 5, 2010 at Treasure Coast Hospice in Stuart.

Mr. Bolton was born Aug. 10, 1925 in Lawrence, to William W. and Ethel G. Bolton. He is a graduate of Governor Dummer Academy, and Brown University in Providence, R.I., Class of 1950. He became a resident of Palm City, Fla., in 1991, coming from Andover.

Prior to his retirement, Mr. Bolton was the Vice President of manufacturing, then President of Bolton-Emerson, a paper machinery manufacturer located in Lawrence. He was a proud World War II veteran that served as a Corporal in the U.S. Army under General Patton. Wallace was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. in North Andover, and a former member of the North Andover Country Club.

Wallace is survived by his wife of 62 years, Barbara Dean Bolton,; daughters, Susan G. Bolton of Charlestown, and Elizabeth B. St. Germain of Cape Elizabeth, Maine; son, William W. Bolton II Hancock, N.H.; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, John G. Bolton; and his sisters, Harriet B. Allen and Ethel Ann Henderson.

ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend a memorial service on Friday, Aug. 20, 2010 at 11 a.m. in the South Church, 41 Central St., Andover.
