She was born May 8, 1928 in Indianapolis, Marion, Indiana,4917 and died March 29, 2018 in Evansville, Vanderburgh, Indiana.2609 She is buried in Southern Arizona Veterans Memorial Cemetiery, Sierra Vista, Cochise, Arizona.456

Miss Reed Married

Miss Shan Reed and Lt. Glen Taylor Emmons were married Tuesday in a private ceremony in the home of Dr. and Mrs. Robert Kraft, of Collinsville at 8 o'clock. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Merritt Wright Reed of Collinsville and the late Mr. Reed. The bridegroom, who is stationed at Scott Air Force Base attending communications school is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Emmons of Harrisonville, Mo. He is scheduled to leave Jan. 11 for assignment in England. Lt. Emmons is a graduate of Missouri University. His social fraternity is Delta Chi. The former Miss Reed is a graduate of Monmouth College, Ill. She is teaching the second grade at Columbian school in Collinsville.

Glenwood Taylor Emmons

Glenwood Emmons, a 31 year Sierra Vista resident, passed away on July 16, 2015 at Canyon Vista Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Glen was born on April 30, 1927 in Douglas, Arizona to James Taylor Emmons and Fannabelle Emmons (Carpenter). He graduated from the University of Missouri with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering. Glen was a Major in the U.S. Air Force, retiring at that rank. He also worked for Arizona Air Pollution Control and for Bell Technical Corp as a Senior Engineer.

Glen is survived by his wife of 60 years, Alice Reed Emmons of Sierra Vista, his son Jim Emmons of Sierra Vista, and his daughters Kate Emmons (Bruce Biser) of Wayzata Minnesota, Luella Emmons of Sierra Vista, and Susan Emmons of Rexburg Idaho.

A graveside service will be held for Glen on Thursday, July 23, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Southern Arizona Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery with the Reverend Victor Sarrazin presiding. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Arizona Community Foundation of Cochise-Hospice Fund2609

Alice Emmons, 89 Evansville, Indiana – joined her husband in heaven on March 29, 2018. Born May 8, 1928, her work on earth included co-founding the Casa De La Paz Hospice and Forgach House, and counseling many individuals through Catholic Community Services.

She served the Sierra Vista community for 34 years as a member of St. Stephen’s Episcopal church and to past president of both the Sierra Vista Women’s Club and Friends at the Library, among other good works.

Alice is preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy Cole Reed and Merritt Reed, and husband of 60 years, Glen T. Emmons. Carrying her legacy are her children, Jim Emmons, Kate Emmons (Bruce Biser), Luella Emmons, and Susan Emmons, and her four grandchildren of whom she was incredibly proud.

Alice will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Services are on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the Southern Arizona Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1300 S Buffalo Soldier Trail, Sierra Vista, AZ 85635, immediately followed by light refreshments at 1608 Chantilly Dr, Sierra Vista, AZ 85635.

In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to Casa De La Paz Hospice at 185 S. Moorman Ave, Sierra Vista, AZ, 86535.2609
