Word has just been received of the marriage of Miss Alice M. Carey, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Carey, 820 Jenifer street, to Harold B. Evans, which occurred in Washington, D. C. the last part of last week. Particulars of the wedding have not yet reached Madison relatives.
Miss Carey went to Washington, Dec. 31. Mr. Evans, who for many years has made his home in Madison where he has been connected with central board of education, is in Washington now where he is doing Y. M. C. A. work.

YOUNGTOWN—Alice M. Evans, 88, who was graduated from the University of Wisconsin in her native Madison, died Saturday in Youngtown Community Hospital.
Mrs. Evans. of 11232 Louisiana Ave., moved here in 1962 from Madison and was a member of the Church of St. Joachim, Sun City.
Survivors include her husband, Harold; a son, H. William of Savage, Minn.; three daughters, Dr. Mary Collins of New York City; Mrs. Ruth Coe of Peking, and Mrs. Betty Ganser of Madison; a brother and a sister of Madison; 14 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Services and burial will be in Madison, Lundberg Golden Door Chapel announced.

MADISON/MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA — Harold B. Evans, age 94, died on Wednesday, July 22, 1987 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He was born on August 26, 1892 in Yuma, Colorado. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1916. He worked for the federal government in Washington D.C., and then returned to Madison, and was with the State Board of Control and the Wisconsin Department of Public Welfare from 1919 until his retirement in 1950. THe Evans resided in Youngstown, Arizona until his return to the Madison/Minneapolis are in 1980. Mr. Evans was a long-time member of Blessed Sacrament Parish, and helped in the establishment of St. Dennis Parish. Survivors include a son, Bill Evans of Prior Lake, Minnesota; three daughters, Dr. Mary Collins of New York City, Mrs. Ruth Coe of Beijing China, and Mrs. Betty Ganser of Madison; 14 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Carey Evans in 1973. Funeral services will be held at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 405 S. Owen Dr., at 11:00a.m. on Monday, July 27, 1987. Concelebrating the mass will be Reverend James Ganser, O.P. and Reverend Edward Erbe. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
